Xingcheng Special Steel has successfully developed and tested S460MLO steel plates, meeting European standards for marine welding structural steel. This marks their first export to Europe. The company, selected as the world's first lighthouse factory in the special steel industry by the World Economic Forum last year, is aiming to break into the high-value marine steel market.
Xingcheng Special Steel recently announced their successful R&D and production testing of S460MLO steel plates, set to be used in Europe's super-large marine platform projects. They reported completing the shipment for the European marine project company that commissioned the steel development, marking their first sales achievement.
The products meet all technical requirements for European offshore wind power steel standards, demonstrating high strength, high toughness, the ability to withstand ultra-low temperatures below -50 degrees Celsius, and low-temperature impact resistance at the core of the steel plates.
Xingcheng Special Steel expects an increase in high-value overseas orders, beginning with this European customer. They plan to enhance production capacity for products thicker than 90mm and continue investing in low-temperature steel production technology.
Last year, Xingcheng Special Steel was recognized as a global "lighthouse factory" for its advancements in smart factory operations, eco-friendly production systems, and AI-driven production innovations. The company plans to further strengthen its AI-based decision-making system in manufacturing.
