Korean Brass Rods |
Anti-Dumping Duties: 8.26-9.18%
Countervailing Duties: 2.04-3.7%
The U.S. Department of Commerce has announced an affirmative final determination of industrial damage regarding Korean brass rods. As a result, anti-dumping and countervailing duties will be imposed.
Following the Department of Commerce's final determination, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) concluded that imports of brass rods from Korea, Brazil, India, Israel, Mexico, and South Africa are being sold in the U.S. at less than fair value and are subsidized by their governments, causing material injury to the U.S. industry.
This petition was filed on May 24, 2023, by local companies Mueller and Wieland, and the American Brass Rod Fair Trade Coalition. The final determination was made after about a year of investigation.
As a result, exports of products with six HS codes (7407.21.9000, 7407.21.7000, 7407.21.1500, 7403.21.0000, 7407.21.3000, 7407.21.5000) to the U.S. will be impacted.
Regulations on domestic companies showed some differences. For anti-dumping duties, Boin Industrial was imposed with 9.18%, Daechang with 8.26%, and other companies with 8.48%. For countervailing duties, Boin Industrial was imposed with 2.04%, Daechang with 3.7%, and others with 2.87%.
While the anti-dumping duties are slightly lower compared to the preliminary determination, the countervailing duties have been adjusted upwards.
