The strike at Chile's Caserones copper mine has officially concluded following an agreement between the workers and Lundin Mining, the company that operates the mine. Initiated in mid-August and involving around 30% of the workforce, the one-week strike ended when the majority of union members accepted the new collective bargaining proposal put forth by Lundin.
During the strike, the mine's operations were reduced to approximately 50% capacity. With the labor dispute now resolved, Lundin Mining has announced plans to swiftly restore full operations at the site.
Caserones is an open-pit mine known for its production of high-quality copper concentrate, copper cathode, and molybdenum concentrate. The mine plays a vital role in supplying copper and molybdenum, metals essential to various industrial processes.
