Euro Manganese and Blue Grass Chemical Sign Strategic Offtake Agreement

Chvaletice Project in the Czech Republic Poised for Critical Role in U.S. Supply Chains

In a move that underscores the growing importance of specialty materials in global supply chains, Euro Manganese, a developer of high-purity manganese products listed in Australia and Canada, has inked its second offtake agreement this August. The agreement involves the supply of high purity electrolytic manganese metal (HPEMM) from the company's Chvaletice project in the Czech Republic to U.S.-based Blue Grass Chemical, a leading producer of specialty chemicals.

Recycling Initiative at the Heart of Chvaletice Project

The Chvaletice project is not just a mining operation but a pioneering recycling initiative. Euro Manganese plans to reprocess old tailings from a decommissioned mine, transforming waste into valuable resources. With the recent completion of its plant commissioning, the project is now capable of producing 32 kilograms per day of HPEMM and 100 kilograms per day of high-purity manganese sulfate metal (HPMSM). This sustainable approach highlights the project's dual commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility.

The Binding Offtake Agreement and Its Implications

The newly announced binding offtake agreement with Blue Grass Chemical will account for a significant portion of Chvaletice's HPEMM production. Deliveries are expected to commence once the Chvaletice project enters full production, contingent on meeting Blue Grass Chemical’s stringent supply-chain qualifications. This agreement reflects the increasing demand for Euro Manganese’s products, especially as companies seek to comply with the U.S. Investment Reduction Act by securing sustainable and reliable supply chains.

Rising Demand for High-Purity Manganese

The demand for Euro Manganese’s HPEMM is on the rise, driven by its compliance with emerging regulatory standards and its critical role in the production of advanced technologies. Earlier in August, Euro Manganese also entered into a non-binding offtake agreement with Wildcat Discovery Technologies, a U.S.-based battery technology developer. These agreements position Euro Manganese as a key player in the global market for high-purity manganese, crucial for the future of energy storage and specialty chemicals.
