Supporting Innovation in Engineering and Manufacturing

Siemens, the global industrial manufacturing giant, has unveiled its Siemens for Startups program at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. This initiative aims to empower early-stage engineering and manufacturing startups by providing venture-related services, reducing costs on Siemens’ software and hardware, and fostering collaboration through the Siemens Xcelerator ecosystem.

Three Pillars of Support

The program focuses on three core pillars:

  1. Connect: Offers onboarding to the Siemens Xcelerator marketplace, a platform enabling startups to access Siemens’ digital services, software, and solutions.
  2. Collaborate: Facilitates partnerships where Siemens acts as an early customer and co-developer, leveraging its expertise to help startups grow while gaining access to cutting-edge innovations.
  3. Empower: Provides essential tools from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, accessible to startups regardless of their development focus.

The program also integrates with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to offer startups technical support, AWS credits, and business development resources, enhancing scalability and innovation.

Showcasing Startups at CES 2025

At CES, Siemens highlighted several startups leveraging its technologies:

  • Haddy: A 3D-printed furniture company using robotics and additive manufacturing to create sustainable, low-cost products.
  • Arkisys: A space infrastructure developer.
  • Dirac: Specializing in manufacturing workflow software.
  • EthonAI: Developing AI-powered factory management solutions.
  • Tended: A work safety technology firm.
  • Instrumental: Focused on detecting failures in electronics manufacturing.

Siemens’ CTO, Peter Koerte, emphasized the importance of startups in driving innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness. “By collaborating with startups, Siemens helps industries address global challenges more effectively,” he stated.

Driving Additive Manufacturing Growth

The Siemens for Startups program aligns with the increasing demand for additive manufacturing technologies. Startups like Haddy and Fluent Metal are advancing sustainable 3D printing solutions, reflecting the industry’s growing focus on reducing waste and enhancing efficiency.
