ACE Green Recycling |
Expansion to 10,000 t/yr by 2026
ACE Green Recycling, a US-based battery recycling company, has announced plans to expand its lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery recycling capacity in India to 10,000 tonnes per year by 2026. The expansion will take place near the port of Mundra in northwest India, optimizing logistics for feedstock and offtake products.
Advanced Recovery Technology
ACE Green Recycling utilizes proprietary technology that recovers lithium from LFP batteries at a rate of approximately 75%, producing lithium carbonate with over 99% purity. The process also extracts valuable materials such as graphite, iron phosphate, steel, and copper, enhancing resource efficiency and reducing waste.
Strategic Growth and Future Plans
Nishchay Chadha, CEO of ACE Green Recycling, emphasized the increasing dominance of LFP batteries in the lithium battery market by 2030, stating that the company is scaling operations to meet growing demand. Additionally, ACE plans to establish a new LFP battery recycling facility in Texas, USA, in the second half of 2026, with a 5,000 t/yr processing capacity.
In 2022, ACE signed a 15-year supply agreement with Glencore, ensuring long-term demand for its recycled battery materials from operations in the US, India, and Thailand. The company's strategic expansions reinforce its role in the global battery recycling market.
