Advancing Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing
PTC Industries, through its subsidiary Aerolloy Technologies, has commissioned India’s first vacuum arc remelting (VAR) furnace for titanium, strengthening its role in the aerospace and defense sectors. The new furnace will enhance domestic production of high-quality titanium components, reducing dependence on foreign suppliers.
Expanding Titanium Capabilities Amid Global Shifts
The newly launched VAR furnace has an annual melting capacity of 1,500 metric tonnes, producing titanium alloy ingots up to 1,000mm in diameter and 10 tonnes in weight. This expansion comes at a crucial time, as Western firms seek alternative titanium suppliers due to geopolitical tensions, particularly the Ukraine conflict.
Strategic Growth and Product Diversification
PTC Industries’ investment in VAR furnace technology aligns with its broader expansion strategy. Already supplying major aerospace clients such as Safran Aircraft Engines and BAE Systems, the company now offers billets, bars, and rods—with plans to introduce plates and sheets via its new hot-rolling mill.
