Expanding Industrial Metrology Capabilities
Sandvik has signed an agreement to acquire Verisurf Software, Inc., a U.S.-based 3D metrology software provider, to enhance its industrial metrology capabilities and strengthen its digital manufacturing solutions for small and mid-sized manufacturers. Verisurf will operate as a separate business unit within Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions.
Verisurf, which primarily serves the North American market, has a customer base of 1,500 companies across sectors like aerospace and defense. The company provides modular-based software solutions for quality inspection, assembly guidance, and reverse engineering, all built on the Mastercam Design platform.
Enhancing Precision and Quality in Manufacturing
Stefan Widing, President and CEO of Sandvik, emphasized that the acquisition will enhance precision measurement and quality assurance in manufacturing. The move aligns with Sandvik’s strategy to expand in digital manufacturing, providing customers with comprehensive solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
