Metinvest Trametal Steel Used in Seabourn Venture and Seabourn Pursuit

Metinvest Group has played a key role in the construction of two cutting-edge polar-class expedition ships, Seabourn Venture and Seabourn Pursuit. These vessels, built between 2022 and 2023 by Italian shipbuilder T. Mariotti and steel structure manufacturer Cimolai for Seabourn Cruise Line, are designed for Arctic and Antarctic exploration.

Reinforced for Extreme Conditions

Seabourn Venture and Seabourn Pursuit feature reinforced hulls, making them resilient against the harsh environments of the northern seas. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the ships provide passengers with unparalleled wildlife exploration experiences. They boast two submarines, 24 inflatable Zodiac boats, kayaks, and a team of experts to guide guests on their journeys.

High-Quality Steel for Advanced Shipbuilding

The vessels were constructed using 10,000 tons of high-strength hot-rolled plates from Metinvest Trametal. Measuring 172 meters in length and 24 meters in width, these ships accommodate 260 passengers and 120 crew members. With 132 luxurious cabins, many featuring separate guest and sleeping areas, some suites even span two levels for added comfort.

Proven Partnership in Shipbuilding

T. Mariotti and Cimolai have a history of collaboration with Metinvest, utilizing its premium steel to build sophisticated vessels. The success of Seabourn Venture and Seabourn Pursuit further solidifies Metinvest’s reputation as a trusted supplier in the maritime industry.

Previously, Metinvest’s steel was also used in constructing the Ukrainian Navy’s Hetman Ivan Mazepa military corvette, launched in November 2022 by RMK Marine Shipyard in Turkey. This steel was sourced from Metinvest’s Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol and Azovstal before the full-scale war.
