Porphyry Copper Mineralisation Confirmed; Drilling at Multiple Sites Set for 2025
Solis Minerals (ASX:SLM) has identified extensive porphyry-style copper mineralisation at its Cinto Project in Peru, calling it a “compelling” target following promising channel sampling results.
The company reports copper grades of up to 1%, with mineralisation detected across a 3km x 0.75km corridor. The findings reinforce the scale potential of the site, located just 15km from the major Toquepala mine.
“We’re seeing mineralisation styles similar to those at Toquepala,” said CEO Mitch Thomas, noting that drone magnetometry data supports new targets and underlines the project’s regional significance.
IP Survey and Drilling Timeline Confirmed
An induced polarisation (IP) survey is underway to define precise drill targets, with drilling at Cinto expected in H2 2025. Results from the IP survey are due this quarter.
In parallel, drilling will begin this quarter at the Chancho al Palo and Ilo Este prospects. Solis will also test low magnetic anomalies at Cinto using mapping and rock geochemistry.
Expansive Portfolio in Key Copper Region
Solis holds 76 concessions over 65,100 hectares in southwestern Peru, a globally significant copper-producing region. The company’s projects—Ilo Este, Ilo Norte, Cinto Copper, and Chocolate—are considered prospective for iron-oxide copper-gold (IOCG) and porphyry copper systems.
“Our goal is to identify large-scale copper-gold resources,” said Thomas, emphasizing the visible surface mineralisation observed at both Ilo Este and Cinto during recent site visits.
